The 2nd American Association for Wind Engineering Workshop (2AAWE) is the second in a series of workshops projected to be held every 18 months by the American Association for Wind Engineering. This Workshop will be held on Marco Island, Florida on August 18th to 20th, 2010. There will be an evening ice breaker on Wednesday, August 18th followed by a full day of presentations on Thursday, August 19th. The Workshop will conclude in the afternoon of Friday, August 20th.

The Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club and Spa is located on three miles of pristine Southwest Florida beaches. Attractions include several renowned restaurants, a world-class spa, three pools on location, a champion golf course, jet skiing and much more. Be prepared for the sunny skies and occasionally afternoon sun showers. A special Workshop rate of $149 per night has been secured for 55 rooms. Please book your room via the link on the AAWE webpage. Bursaries will be available to students who present research.

This Workshop is an excellent opportunity for interaction between engineers, students, scientists, architects, planners and practitioners in the various fields of wind engineering and related disciplines. Members and non-members of the AAWE are welcome to attend and/or present at the 2AAWE. Topics covering all areas of wind engineering will be accepted for presentation at 2AAWE. Students should use this informal setting to present their current research and receive feedback from the attendees.

Those interested in presenting papers at 2AAWE are invited to submit an abstract of at least 150 words and no more than one page in 12-point Times New Roman font by July 16, 2010 to: AAWE2010@gmail.com

Please indicate at the bottom of the abstract if you also wish to prepare a 6 page paper for the Workshop proceedings (due August 2nd). The template for the abstract and paper may be downloaded here.
