An exposed condominium building, such as The Belize at the southern tip of Marco Island shown here, can face glazing and envelope failures during extreme hurricane events. Flying debris may be deflected by using laminated glass and/or balcony shutters. In this shot the balcony shutters are closed in preparation for the arrival of a hurricane.
