Mean Coefficients of Pressure

Year: 1991

Videographer: Russ Leffler

Here we see contoured, mean, pressure coefficients measured on a 1:100 model of the Texas Tech Building in the wind tunnel at Colorado State University. These mean pressure coefficient data vary as the wind direction changes (arrow shows the wind direction of the flow approaching the model). Features to note include the large positive pressures (red) on the walls when they face the wind, the large negative edge pressures on the roof (violet) when separation occurs, and the large vortex-induced roof pressures (violet) when quartering winds occur.
